WhatsApp locked chat feature: There is good news for the users using WhatsApp. The company has said that the security on the app is going to increase and the locked chat feature will come for linked devices.

WhatsApp locked chat feature: The number of users of WhatsApp will be more than crores. This is bound to happen because it has made everyone’s life much easier. One can easily talk to anyone sitting miles away. Photos can be sent, videos can be shared, documents can be sent. For the convenience of the people, the company offers different plans, and meanwhile, another special security feature is ready to come on WhatsApp. Along with WhatsApp, the company is also bringing Locked Chats feature for linked devices. Currently this feature is in the beta version of Android.

Meta had already provided the chat lock feature for the primary device, but now in the new Android beta version, whenever the main WhatsApp is locked, the chat on the linked device will also be automatically locked.

The new Android version 2.24.11.9 in beta is currently testing this feature with select users. A screenshot of the feature being tested was shared by Wabetainfo this week, and here, you can clearly see the locked chat folder at the top of the WhatsApp main screen of the linked device.

The important part about the new tool is that the existing chat lock will not work for PIN linked devices, so you will have to create a secret code from the primary device settings for it to work.

The tipster explains, ‘Once they configure the secret code, their protected conversations will disappear from the chat list on their linked device and can be accessed exclusively through the locked chat screen. ‘

The beta version also seems to hint that a secret code set on the primary WhatsApp account device can be synced across all linked devices, so that you don’t have to set it for every device.
