The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has allowed WhatsApp Pay in the country on the condition that currently it will be released only for 2 crore users.

People of the country will now be able to send money through instant messaging app WhatsApp. WhatsApp has got approval to start a payment service in India. The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has given permission to operate WhatsApp Payments in the country. However, initially this service will be available to only 2 crore users of WhatsApp, later the company can increase its UPI user base in a phased manner. Let us tell you that the number of WhatsApp users in India is more than 400 million.

5 special features of WhatsApp Pay

1. To pay anyone through WhatsApp, it is mandatory for the user to have a UPI supported debit card to pay, because a debit card will be required for payment, users will be able to pay directly through it. .

2. Soon after updating their WhatsApp, users will get the payment feature, many thousands of users are already using WhatsApp Pay on beta version.

3. WhatsApp Pay will give a tough competition to Google Pay (GooglePay), Phone Pay (PhonePe), Paytm (PayTM) and Jio Pay (JioPay) in the country. The reason for this is that people will not have to install a separate app for payment.

4. The company has been testing WhatsApp Payments in India for the last two years. WhatsApp was only waiting for the green signal from the Indian government.

5. NPCI has given a green signal to WhatsApp, and has set the UPI transaction limit for the third party app, which will be applicable from January 1, 2021. According to the new rule, a third party app can only transact a maximum of 30% of the UPI transaction.

How to create a WhatsApp Pay account

– Open WhatsApp and go to the three dot dot icon in the top right on the screen.

– Go to the option of Payments given there and tap on Add payment method. Here you will find options from various banks.

– After selecting the name of the bank, your mobile number linked to the bank will be verified. For this, tap on the option to verify via SMS. Make sure that your WhatsApp number and the number linked to the bank account are the same.

– As soon as the verification is complete, you will have to complete the payment setting. For this, you have to generate UPI PIN like in other payment apps.

Do this transaction

– Open a chat for the person to send money to WhatsApp Pay and tap on the attachment icon.
After this, tap on Payment and enter the amount you want to send.

After this, enter UPI, payment will be made and its confirmation message will be received.
