Passengers are more worried about the refund of expensive flight tickets

Traveling in flight is also expensive because it is faster, safer and more comfortable than bus and train. Therefore, passengers who give it first priority to travel long distances may also worry more about ticket refund (Flight Ticket Refund policy). There are also strict rules regarding the weight of the luggage of the passengers in the flight. If the weight is more than the prescribed weight, an additional charge has to be paid. Despite all the formalities, the question remains in the mind of most passengers about ticket refund (Flight Refund Rules). Airline ticket cancellation charges and refund related rules and conditions

Different airlines and airlines have different rules and conditions regarding ticket cancellation charges and refund. According to the instructions of DGCA, in case of flight cancellation, the airline has to reschedule the ticket according to the convenience of the passenger and take care of their facilities. If the passenger refuses, then the entire amount of their ticket has to be refunded. However, such a situation arises rarely, but sometimes the airlines also deduct some light charges in this.

What are the necessary rules for ticket cancellation charges and refund?

On the other hand, if you cancel a flight ticket, there are different rules for refund. According to the rules of domestic airlines, full refund is said to be given if the ticket is cancelled 7 days before the flight takes off. A charge of about Rs 3000 is levied for cancelling the ticket 3 days before the flight. At the same time, this charge increases to Rs 3500 on ticket cancellation from 3 days to the day of flight departure.

However, many airlines also give a special option regarding ticket cancellation (Airlines Cancellation and Refund Policy), under which full refund is available on cancellation by paying the fixed charge at the time of booking.
