The Income Tax Department has given a deadline of 31 May 2024 to link Pan-Aadhaar. This means that you only have today left. Even if you have linked PAN with Aadhaar, you must check once whether it is really linked or not. Today we will tell you how you can check the status through SMS.
All citizens of the country have to link their Aadhaar Card with PAN Card. If they do not do this, then they may have to face loss. The Income Tax Department has given time till 31 May 2024 to link Pan-Aadhaar.
This means that if you have not yet linked your Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar, then you should do this first. If you are confused whether your PAN is linked with Aadhaar or not, then you can easily check it through SMS.
Check whether PAN is linked to Aadhaar or not through SMS
- You have to go to the SMS of your registered mobile number and type UIDPAN.
After UIDPAN, you have to give a space and write 12 digit Aadhaar number and 10 digit PAN number. - You have to send this message to 567678 or 56161.
- Now in reply you will get a message of PAN-Aadhaar link confirmation.
How to link Aadhaar to PAN through SMS
- You have to type UIDPAN space Aadhaar number in the registered mobile number and again space PAN number.

How to link PAN to Aadhaar online
- Go to the official website of Income Tax Department (eportal.incometax.gov.in) or (incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in).
- You have to register here first.
- After this, enter the PAN and Aadhaar number.
- Now you have to provide user ID, password and date of birth details to log in.
- In the notification that appears on the screen, you have to select ‘Quick Links’.
- After this, select Aadhaar and type the PAN number and Aadhaar number.
- Now select the checkbox, enter the captcha and submit.
- After this, you will see the confirmation of linking Aadhaar-PAN.
