Five institutions raised demand for increasing the amount of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, by increasing direct help, economic condition of farmers can improve

new Delhi. The most effective of the schemes launched by the Modi government for farmers is the Pradhan Mantri kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. Because there is no scope for corruption in it. For the first time after independence, money is being sent directly to the farmers’ account. Under this, 6000-6000 rupees are being given annually to do farming. Out of this, no officer and leader is able to eat money. That is why agricultural experts are now demanding to increase this amount so that the situation of the feeders can improve.

Agricultural experts believe that giving money directly to the farmers is more beneficial, otherwise the officials and leaders clean the money in the registers. According to the 2016 Economic Survey, the annual income of farmers in 17 states of the country is just Rs 20 thousand. If their income is to increase, the amount of direct assistance will have to be increased.

Sompal Shastri’s suggestion on direct help

Former Union Agriculture Minister Sompal Shastri says that in 2017, he went to Switzerland and studied the farming model there. Then the government used to give 2993 euros per hectare to the farmers (about 2.5 lakh rupees per year) as stipend for farming. That is, one lakh rupees an acre. Similarly, the cattle ranchers used to get 300 euros i.e. about 25000 rupees.

Shastri, a former member of the Planning Commission, says that I am demanding a certain amount of money annually for farmers in India on the same model. 86 percent of small and marginal farmers are in the country. 20 thousand rupees an acre to them, 15 thousand rupees an acre to those older than that, and 10 thousand rupees per acre to government assistance to those cultivating more than 10 hectares. This can improve the situation of farmers.
