Salary will increase for the second time this year
The salary of Wipro employees will increase from September 1, 2021, it was announced by the company earlier. A statement issued by the company said that Wipro Limited will introduce Merit Salary Increase (MSI) for all eligible employees up to Band B3 (Assistant Manager and below) with effect from September 1, 2021. In January 2021, the company had announced the salary for the eligible employees in these bands, 80 percent of the company’s employees fall in this band. There will be a second increase in his salary this year.
Salary of these employees will increase
The enhanced salary will be applicable from June 1 for all eligible employees above Band C1 (Manager and above). Let us tell you that the company’s profit for the June quarter has increased by 35.6% to Rs 3,242 crore. The company had expected double digit growth in revenue in the first quarter of FY22 on the back of strong performance and strong demand. According to the Indian Accounting Standard (Ind-AS), Wipro reported a net profit (on account of equity holders) of Rs 2,390.4 crore in the year-ago period. Whereas revenue grew by 22.3% year-on-year at Rs 18,252.4 crore in that quarter.
Increased salary will be applicable from September 1
During the earnings call, Wipro CEO and Managing Director Thierry Delaporte had said that in the short term there will be some pressure due to cost of people, as the company has announced a hike in salaries of 80% of its employees. , which is effective from 1 September. This is the second increase in this calendar year.
22,000 freshers will join
CEO Delaporte said that 6,000 freshers will be included in Wipro in the second quarter, which will be the highest ever. He said that the company will issue more than 30,000 offer letters this year to join the freshers in the financial year 2023. Out of 30,000 offers, 22,000 freshers are expected to participate.
The company has more than 2 lakh employees
In the first quarter, with over 10,000 people being lateral hires, while a little less than 2,000 freshers were onboard, Wipro’s IT services workforce crossed the 2 lakh milestone with a closing headcount of 2,09,890. Its attrition in the June 2021 quarter was 15.5%.
