WFH: The trend of working online has grown rapidly these days. Work from home (WFH) facilities have been provided in many companies. But due to this many people are also becoming victims of fraud. One such case has come to the fore in Gurugram, Haryana.
Pooja Verma, a resident of here, was tricked to do work from home through WhatsApp message. After this Pooja was duped of more than Rs 11 lakh. Pooja is originally from Agra and has a house in Sector 85, Gurugram. Pooja, the victim of fraud, has lodged a complaint with the police in this matter.
Pooja has alleged that she has been offered a part-time job through a message on WhatsApp. It said that work from home has to be done. Was offered to earn money through. Pooja told that she was told to give work like subscribing to the YouTube channel.
This is how fraud happened
According to the complaint received, Pooja was also asked to join a Telegram channel through a link. After joining the Telegram channel, Verma will be given tasks like subscribing to the YouTube channel. The woman was then asked to invest Rs 5,000. After which he transferred the money to the mentioned bank account. Police said that instead of Rs 5,000, he got Rs 6,440. In such a situation, Pooja is convinced that it is not a fraud. After this, a caller calling herself Kangana called Verma and asked him to invest Rs 10,000.
During this, Pooja was told that if she invests Rs 1,00,000, she would be allowed to withdraw the profit amount. Police said that Verma has alleged that he was duped of a total of Rs 11.45 lakh. At present, this case has been registered at Manesar police station.
