work from home ends – In companies that have ended work from home, the attrition rate has increased as compared to companies that allow work from home. This shows that the interest of the employees in coming to work in the office is decreasing.

New Delhi. Work from home started under compulsion during the Corona period, now the employees have liked it so much that they do not want to come to the office at all. This is the reason why the number of employees leaving the job (Attrition Rate) has increased in the companies which have ended work from home. On the other hand, in companies where work from home is still applicable, the number of employees resigning is less.

According to a survey by HR solutions firm Aon, companies that have eliminated work from home have seen a spike in resignations this year. Survey data shows that attrition for companies that ended work from home in August was 29 per cent. In contrast, companies that allowed work from home or followed a hybrid work model recorded only 19 per cent attrition.

Companies are closing the hybrid model

AON included more than 700 companies in their survey. According to a media report, the number of companies doing office work instead of home is increasing continuously. Only 9 percent of the companies in India were completely getting their employees to work from home in August 2022. In January, 38 percent of the employees of the companies were working from home instead of office.

Increased resignations

It is clear from AON’s survey that the first priority of the employees is to work from home. This is the reason why the companies which have made it mandatory to come to office and work, they are getting weak in keeping their employees connected with them. Even now many major companies have adopted the hybrid model only. These include RPG Group, PepsiCo and Tech Mahindra.

PepsiCo India’s Chief Human Resource Officer Pavitra Singh said that even though employees have the facility to work from home, many people are preferring to come to the office and work. This is a sign of change. RPG Enterprises is also working in hybrid mode. The company has divided its jobs into different categories. Employees of some segments can work from home while for some it has been made mandatory to come to office.
