Delhi Pollution 2022 After some reduction in air pollution, the Delhi government can announce the opening of primary schools as well as ending work from home in the afternoon. Environment Minister Gopal Rai has called a high level meeting for a decision on this.
Delhi Pollution 2022: Poisonous air created due to air pollution had forced 50 percent government employees of Delhi. After the order of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, 50 percent of the state government employees were doing work from home since Saturday, but it has been abolished. After a high-level meeting on Monday, the Environment Minister of Delhi announced the end of work from home.
With some improvement in the air quality due to the change in wind direction, now after the lifting of the fourth phase restrictions, it was expected that the Delhi government may take a decision to lift the fourth phase restrictions in its meeting on pollution on Monday. Is. The same thing happened after the meeting.
In fact, after some improvement in the air pollution situation in Delhi, the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) has lifted the restrictions of the fourth phase of GRAP. On Saturday, the AQI in the capital improved from severe to very poor category and stood at 381, while on Sunday it further declined to 339. Earlier, the CAQM had recommended the implementation of the fourth phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) as the AQI has reached critical condition.
Taking a decision on this, the Delhi government had also banned a large number of diesel and petrol vehicles while ordering the release of the fourth phase of Grape on Friday itself. Also, schools up to class eight were closed and 50 percent government employees were instructed to work from home.
Restricting vehicles to control air pollution may be considered appropriate to some extent as a temporary measure, but it should be understood that it is not a solution to the problem. At the same time, it is also worth considering that when the AQI had improved on Saturday itself and had come from severe category to very poor category, then why restrictions on vehicles were kept for two days on Saturday and Sunday?
This shows that the CAQM is not getting accurate inputs of the Meteorological Department’s forecast, which is why the air in the capital became comparatively better the very next day the Delhi government imposed the fourth phase of restrictions, But Delhiites had to face restrictions on vehicles for two days, while the AQI was not in the severe category for these two days.
In such a situation, it should be understood that the right benefit of the restrictions of Grape can be received only when the CAQM gets the right input from the Meteorological Department. Otherwise, the sanctions will only add to the sufferings of the people.
