Henley & Partners has released a new ranking of passports of countries around the world. In the latest index, the ranking of India’s passport has improved. The interesting thing is that the world’s most powerful passport is not from America or any country in Europe but from Asia.
There was a time when the passports of America and Britain were considered the most powerful in the world, but now that era is over. Now the top of the list of the most powerful in the world is Asian countries. The latest ranking of passports around the world reveals this. According to the Henry Passport Index 2024, Asian countries have made a strong presence among the powerful passport countries of the world. India’s passport is also getting stronger continuously and it has jumped upwards in the latest ranking as well. At the same time, India’s neighbor poor Pakistan has somehow managed to make it to the 100 countries this time. However, it has become slightly stronger compared to last year.
India’s ranking jumps
The Passport Index of London-based Henley & Partners ranks the world’s passports on the basis of how many countries the people holding it get visa-free entry. For every visa free entry, a passport is given one point, on the basis of which the global ranking is prepared. In the year 2024, India’s passport has jumped 2 points to 82nd place. According to the Henley Passport Index, India’s passport provides visa free entry to 58 countries. In the year 2023, India’s global ranking was 84th.
Where is Pakistan
Pakistan has secured 100th place in the global ranking of the year 2024. Only 33 countries give visa free entry on Pakistani passport. However, its passport has jumped 6 points as compared to the year 2023. In the year 2023, Pakistan’s passport was ranked 106 in the world. In 2023, only 32 countries gave visa free entry on Pakistani passport.
