Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday made it clear that the UP government supports the conduct of these examinations amid opposition political parties’ demand to postpone the conduct of JEE and NEET examinations.



Chief Minister Yogi said in a high-level meeting held at Lucknow Lok Bhavan, that the state government supports the conduct of NEET and JEE examinations. He said, on August 9, 2020, B.Ed entrance examination was completed in the state, in which there were about five lakh candidates. There was no news of infection (corona virus) from anywhere in this examination. The Chief Minister said that similarly the examination of Public Service Commission, Uttar Pradesh has also been conducted.

Akhilesh Yadav protested:

Police had lathi-charged to disperse the SP leaders and activists who had reached Raj Bhavan on Thursday with this demand.



Congress protests:

The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee is staging a state-wide sit-in today against the JEE-NEET examination conducted by the Center during the pandemic period. State President Ajay Kumar Lallu said that the Modi government at the center and the Yogi government of the state have failed to stop the spread of Kovid-19 epidemic. Conducting examinations of millions of students in such a deadly infection is like throwing them into this dangerous infection.



Six ministers reached Supreme Court:

There is a constant demand to postpone the examination of NEET and JEE and this demand of students has also received support from opposition parties. At the same time, six ministers from non-BJP ruled states have moved the Supreme Court. The petition requested the Supreme Court to reconsider its order allowing the Center to conduct NEET, JEE examinations this year. On the other hand, the National Testing Agency (NTA) organized JEE and NEET amid opposition from political parties. Preparations have intensified. By Wednesday evening, about 14 lakh candidates out of 23 lakh JEE-NEET have also downloaded it. NTA chairman Vineet Joshi said that it shows that the children are eagerly awaiting the exam.
