Jometo founder and CEO Dipinder Goel has said that women and transgender staff of the company will be entitled to one day off every monthly cycle of periods. “There should be no shame in applying for period leave,” Goyal said in an emailed reply, which has been shared publicly. You should not hesitate to write in the company’s internal groups or emails that you are on period leave,” he said.

Appealing to those who receive unnecessary harassment and unpleasant comments on taking leave during periods, the Jometo CEO said, “Speak openly, women need to be supported to create an associate culture.”
“I know that many women have a very painful menstrual stress, and if we really want to develop a collaborative culture in Jometo, we have to support them,” Goyal said.
Menstruation or periods remain a taboo subject in India, with women facing many difficulties, including lack of hygiene and awareness. In rural areas, the situation is even worse, where access to sanitary pads is not common.
